The Associated Press is reporting that a man who made verbal threats against President Bush and had a suspicious package was arrested this afternoon by Secret Service agents outside the north fence of the White House.

The man was apparently uttering threats right outside the fence, and WJLA had this picture up of what is reportedly a police bomb squad investigating the package.

The north lawn of the White House was briefly evacuated, but an all-clear has now been given.

This is the second person arrested for making threats against the government in the District this month. A man with a shotgun, a bow and arrow and a samurai sword who said he was heading to the Supreme Court to “take care of business” was arrested on the street a week ago Friday.
