In 2007, she released her second studio album, Junkyard Jewel, and has been picking up critical praise from outlets like Billboard magazine. She’s played D.C. before but this time she’ll bring her rich vocals to Blues Alley for two full sets. 8 and 10 p.m., $18.

COMEDY: The DC Improv is hosting its annual Funniest Sports Celebrity in Washington Contest. TELEVISION: Set your DVRs to catch D.C.’s own Georgie James in their network television debut tonight on Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
MUSIC: If you didn’t snag tickets to Wilco’s show tonight at the 9:30 Club, check out NPR’s live simulcast of the show starting at 9 p.m., part of their excellent Live in Concert from All Songs Considered series.
