You may have noticed a few small changes changes at the top of our homepage’s menu bar over the last few days. We’ve added a new feature called “Top Users”, which allows registered users to track their position relative to other commenters and see who has been slacking off at work contributing to DCist comment threads the most. Just click on Top Users to see a page that shows the top 50 most frequent commenters over the last 30 days. This new page also explains that mysterious ranking commenters have been seeing in their profiles since they launched. Check out the list to see if you’re on it — and if you are, and you still have the default panda avatar, for shame. It’s easy to edit your user profile and add a photo.

As with any new feature, our tech team is still working out a few bugs here and there, and there does seem to be some amount of delay between when new comments are reflected in the ranking. But if you notice any other problems with the Top Users feature, please let us know so we can report them.
