This blogging thing is harder than it looks. Our faithful leader Sommer Mathis has put in an absurd number of uninterrupted months writing for and editing this site every day. So, we decided to let her take a vacation. While she’s off soaking up the sun and, hopefully, plenty of rum-based cocktails, DCist will be in the hands of a few guest editors this week.

You’ll be seeing more of some of us who are always around, but that’s not all! We’re bringing in some fresh blood to keep things interesting throughout the week. You’ve got the always intriguing perspectives of DCist alums Martin Austermuhle and Jason Linkins (who now spends his time at The Most Powerful Blog In The World), as well as arts writer and world-famous group-house-dwelling blogger Kriston Capps to look forward to.
