A power outage at RFK on July 12 left half the stadium in the dark in the middle of a D.C. United game. Tonight’s United game has been postponed due to another outage. |
At least this time it didn’t occur halfway through the match.
Due to a power outage surrounding RFK Stadium (yes, that’s right, another one), tonight’s D.C. United match against the Houston Dynamo has been postponed until tomorrow evening. According to the team’s website, the game will be played tomorrow night, July 23, at 7:30 p.m. Tonight’s match is itself a rescheduling of a postponed match originally slated to occur on June 4. That match was postponed due to unplayable weather conditions, a soggy pitch that neither team could bear after 16 minutes of soccer, disguised as people falling over and splashing water at each other. If you were planning to head to RFK tonight, the team’s release says that all tickets for the Houston game – regardless of the date on the front – will be honored at the gates tomorrow evening.
Hopefully, the third time’s the charm for United, who really need three points against the Dynamo – they only have one road victory on the season – in order to keep pace with Chicago, who currently occupy third place in the Eastern Conference with a game in hand.
