>> Project 4 presents to you the childhood of Gina Tibott. She dug up the backyard of the home she grew up in, for a (gruesome?) rediscovery of her deceased pets. Using her archeology training, she carefully retrieved the bones and proceeded to photograph this lost culture. No opening reception, so see the remnants for yourself at during regular gallery hours, Wed. – Fri. 2 – 6 p.m., Sat. 12 – 6 p.m. and by appointment.

>> Irvine Contemporary opens their annual MFA graduate show, Introductions4, on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. They chose the work of nine artists out of 250 submissions, with the help of a panel of distinguished D.C. art collectors. We’re especially intrigued by the works of Becky Alphrin and Jimmy Joe Roche, who both use sculpture to play with ideas of society and culture; Alphrin through minimalist architectural sculptures and Roche with intricate and colorful paper cut-outs.

>> Photography lovers, head over to the Corcoran tonight for a fantastic opportunity. Peter Van Agtmael and Jessica Dimmock, both currently showing at the Randall Scott Gallery in 8 Photographers, will be led in discussion by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lucian Perkins. The lecture will be in the Armand Hammer Auditorium and begin at 7:30 p.m. Free.

>> Fashionistas, this is a good week for you. Tonight, head over to the trunk show for the launch of artist and designer Billy Colbert’s new line of “urban pop” men’s and women’s wear, Policy. (If his clothes are as good as his art, sign us up.) Union Row at 2125 14th Street NW, 6 to 8 p.m., sponsored by The Pink Line Project. Then next Tuesday, head to a charity fashion show for the launch of Ebong Eka’s line of prêt-à-porter men’s wear, Mi Chiamo Eka, at the K Street Lounge. Though you’ll have to shell out $50 in advance or $60 at the door, a portion of the proceeds goes to Hoop Dreams, and you’ll get wine, fancy snacks, and music from DJ Dirty Hands, from 7:30 to 10 p.m.. Eka was named one of Washingtonian Magazine’s “Best Dressed” last year, so you can probably trust him to dress you well.
