High wire artist Philippe Petit is set to walk 50 feet in the air at the National Building Museum next month.

The National Museum of Women in the Arts’ $67.5 million renovation includes more gallery space, improved accessibility, and a new section for research and education.

The Smithsonian’s board must assign each museum to a site by the end of the year.

The beloved museum will feature a “Star Wars” X-wing, along with many historic objects that aim to tell the stories of our space exploration in a more inclusive way.

The public can weigh in on their preferred design for the new addition to the Air and Space Museum until Sept. 19.

Supporters of the two new museums worried they would be relegated to locations far from the National Mall in the wake of conservationists calling for no new additions to “the Nation’s front lawn.”

The museum in downtown D.C. is offering free admission — with advanced registration — for the second half of the month.

In November, the museum will reopen with an autonomous flying taxi, tech-infused art installations, and a video game you can play with your retinas.

They’ve been closed since December.

It’s been closed for renovation, not to mention the pandemic.
