MOVIE: The AFI Silver’s Noir City DC series continues tonight with Detour features a stunning turn by Ann Savage as a femme fatale who is able to manipulate and dominate a man she seems to have met by accident, but of course nothing happens by accident. 9:15 p.m.
MUSIC: The Black Crowes, one of Chuck Klosterman’s ten most accurately rated bands of all time, play the first of three consecutive nights at the 9:30 Club tonight. 7 p.m. doors, tickets are a steep $45.
READING: Mr. PC himself, John Hodgman, a.k.a. The Daily Show’s “Resident Expert,” has written a new original miscellany of delightfully weird stuff to follow up The Areas of My Expertise. He’ll be at Politics and Prose to read from and sign copies of More Information Than You Require. This is sure to be packed, so get there plenty early. 7 p.m.
