DCist was the first to report on the completion of the city’s first off-leash dog park in the Logan Circle/Shaw area, and now we bring word of a free dog vaccination clinic and licensing event planned at the park this weekend.
The event, hosted by the D.C. Department of Health, will happen this Saturday, November 22, from 1 – 4 p.m. The new Shaw Dog Park is located on 11th Street NW, near R Street.
Owners who wish to use the new park must make sure their dogs have up to date licenses with the city. This event will allow dog owners to comply with the law by offering on-site dog vaccinations and licensing ($13 for sterilized animals, $46 for unsterilized). Just remember to bring your check book, as the clinic will not accept cash, along with proof of your dog’s most recent vaccinations.
Cats brought to the park in carrier boxes may also receive vaccinations and licensing at the event.
