>> The Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center is continuing it’s fantastic Jazz in D.C. program this week. The festival is designed to present the rich legacy of jazz in the District and features the area’s top players, including the Young Lions, Buck Hill, and a host of others. >> Smooth jazz star Alex Bugnon sets up shop at Blues Alley this weekend with 8 and 10 p.m. sets Friday through Sunday. Tickets are $25 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge.

>> Former UDC professor Bobby Felder leads a big band featuring some of the area’s best on Friday at Jazz Night in Southwest at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. 6 to 9 p.m. $5

>> The Kennedy Center’s Jazz in D.C. festival culminates on Friday and Saturday with D.C. and the Duke, a concert by the NSO Pops orchestra, led by the great Marvin Hamlisch. Tickets to the 8 p.m. shows are $20 to $85.

>> Powerhouse saxophonist and Howard University alum Tim Warfield is one of the most respected players on the scene. Always a fan of playing D.C., he’ll be spending this weekend at Twins Jazz with 9 and 11 p.m. sets on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $18.

>> Talented local saxophonist Rita Ferreira brings are blend of jazz and Brazilian sounds to Bohemian Caverns on Friday and Saturday with 9 and 11 p.m. sets. $15 cover

>> HR-57 hosts two regulars this weekend. On Friday, saxophonist Antonio Parker will perform and vocalist AJ Parham will play on Saturday. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. $12.
