- Members of the D.C. Council threw Marion Barry a little surprise birthday party this afternoon, just a couple of hours after he was released from the hospital.
- A D.C. EMS sport utility vehicle crashed into a Honda Civic about noon at 2nd Street and Massachusetts Avenue.
- Disgraced former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer has purchased the office building at 1615 L St. NW as an investment property. The building is only about a block from the Mayflower Hotel, the site of Spitzer’s rendezvous with a high class prostitute which ended his political career.
- The rooftop burglar (or burglars) who has been victimizing Dupont area homes for some time is still at large after police thought they had surrounded a suspect in the 1700 block of Corcoran Street NW .
- Two female-to-male transgender patrons at the Dupont Circle gay bar Fab Lounge told police they were verbally harassed and assaulted by two female customers.
- A Loudoun County school bus driver has been charged with seven misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for encouraging a group of students to gang up on another student and attack him with snowballs.
