Less than one full day after yesterday afternoon’s Metrobus/MARC train collision in Riverdale Park, another Metrobus came close to meeting the same fate today with a CSX train.

WUSA’s 9News Now was on the scene when a route F4 Metrobus attempted to cross the railroad tracks at Queensbury Road, the same place at yesterday’s accident. The bus was about to proceed when the railroad signals lit up and the safety gates came down. One of the gates lowered onto the bus, which managed to back out. According to 9News, about a minute or so passed from the time the bus backed out until the time a CSX train ran through. Once the train passed, the bus carried on. There were no injuries reported.

The video itself is admittedly anticlimactic and looks as if it was edited to up the drama, but the potential for a second collision in the same spot as yesterday’s accident does seem a bit freaky.
