DC for Marriage will hold a rally for marriage equality tomorrow at the John A. Wilson Building as the D.C. Council prepares to cast its final vote on a bill that would allow the District to recognize same-sex marriages performed legally outside of D.C. The rally begins as early as 8 a.m. and the Council session begins at 10. Rally participants are asked to wear white in support of marriage equality.

In its first vote on April 7, the measure passed 12-0; in response, the National Organization for Marriage is now running the radio ad posted above, and a group of African American Baptist ministers have organized rallies against the bill. Ward 8 Council member Marion Barry appeared at one such event last week, announcing that he is against the bill even though he previously stated he would vote for it. The same group, led by Bishop Harry Jackson of Hope Christian Church in Bowie, plans to show up at the Wilson Building tomorrow morning as well.
