Organizers say that Loudoun’s first-ever official Pride festival is a welcome reprieve after years of contentious debates, including over the rights of transgender students.

Some local LGBT advocacy groups have been pushing for such a ban.

The suspect has pleaded not guilty in D.C. Superior Court.

“The real hurt is that she was taken in such a horrible and tragic way – shot multiple times and left on a road there.”
