Good morning, Washington. Once again today, there’s nothing on Mayor Adrian Fenty’s public schedule, so the city’s top official is presumed to be still in Las Vegas for the International Shopping Center Convention. As far as we know there are zero local reporters in Vegas to keep tabs on the D.C. delegation there, so we’ve been trying to guess which of today’s panels and workshops might be of the most interest to our favorite local politicos. “Public-Private Deals in a Credit Crunch World,” perhaps?

Are Ya Ready for Some Disney? That’s what looks like is coming to National Harbor, according to The Post. “Disney plans to build a 500-room hotel resort on the parcel, providing another anchor for a 300-acre venture that seeks to rival the District as a conference and convention destination.” It’s just a hotel though, folks, so don’t get too excited. No Disney’s America-style debacle to look forward to this time around, and no timeline on the project, neither.

D.C. Cops Whine About Parking Tickets: We all know parking is tight right around Judiciary Square, but this story in today’s Examiner is pretty groan-worthy. Several police officers say they’ve been getting parking tickets when they show up to testify in court. This is because, you know, they parked illegally. And got caught. Here’s a thought, officers. When they are no legal spaces available right by the courthouse, do what the rest of us do: park farther away! Or hey, even better, leave the squad car at the station and try Metroing down there.

This Day in DCist: In 2008, the long Fort Reno arsenic scare appeared to be over, and in 2006, the new Wilson Bridge was dedicated.
