FRIDAY

>> Ashes of Time Redux screens for free at 7p.m. tonight at the Freer Gallery of Art, part of the Made in Hong Kong Film Festival. You do need a ticket, and we recommended you reserve a seat in advance via Ticketmaster, or else arrive one hour early for entry on a first-come, first-served basis.

>> Don’t miss our other film picks of the week, including special screenings of Jules & Jim at the AFI Silver on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

>> DCAC’s annual Wall Mountables exhibit opens tonight with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. The gallery is divided into two by two foot squares, which artists acquired first come, first served during installation yesterday. The exhibit is typically an Artomatic re-deux (many artists uninstalled Artomatic last week and walked their artwork straight over to DCAC), but one that you can actually view in a single visit, at least. Expect some affordable work, for those of you with empty wall space over your couch.

>> The Washington Nationals play three games against the Chicago Cubs this weekend. Friday’s and Saturday’s games start at 7:05 p.m., and Sunday’s at 1:35 p.m.; tickets start at $10.

>> DJs Lunch Money and Nitekrawler are hosting a dance night called Escapism at the Black Cat‘s Backstage, where they’ll spin soul and funk. Free, 9:30 p.m.

>> The Capital Fringe Festival keeps rocking and rolling this weekend. Keep checking this link for all of DCist’s latest reviews.
