MOVIE: Catch Kurt Russell’s memorable performance as S.D. “Snake” Plissken in a special screening of cult favorite Escape from New York tonight at the AFI Silver, part of the venue’s “Totally Awesome: More Films of the ’80s” series. 9:45 p.m.
MUSIC: The incomparable De La Soul, backed by the Rhythm Roots Allstars, are at the 9:30 Club tonight with openers Kenan Bell, Big Pooh and Bill Ray. Tickets are still available for $25, doors at 7 p.m., show starts at 8:30 p.m.

MUSIC: More nostalgia music tonight at Wolf Trap, where they’re featuring Hippie Fest, a packed bill full of reconfigured 1960s-era acts.
