D.C. Police officers shot and killed a man in Southeast D.C. at about 1:30 p.m. this afternoon. Police were responding to what appears to be a strange 911 call to 1767 Trenton Place SE, not far from the Southern Ave. Metro station, when the shooting occurred.
A man reportedly called 911 to say that he had “killed and cut up” his sister, and when officers arrived on Trenton Place SE, they found a man armed with knives. Officers fired upon the man after he refused to drop his weapons, according to police. The man was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
WUSA9 reports that the man’s name was Robert McFaulin, 50, and that the man’s sister was subsequently found, unharmed.
