MOVIE: The Miracle of Leipzig screens at the Goethe-Institut tonight, followed by a discussion from a Leipzig-based civil rights activist, German Abassador Klaus Scharioth, and the film’s director and producer. The film tells the story of the thousands of East German citizens who gathered peacefully every Monday in front of St. Nicolai Church to march through the city demanding freedom and democracy in the GDR. $6, 6:30 p.m.
MUSIC: Syracuse chamber-poppers Ra Ra Riot, who are at the top of the indie-pop heap, play tonight with Maps and Atlases and Princeton at the 9:30 Club. The show is sold out, but you know what to do. $15, doors 7 p.m.
JAZZ: Famed trumpeter Roy Hargrove begins a four night stand at Blues Alley tonight, tickets to the nightly 8 and 10 p.m. sets are $35 + $12.50 minimum/surcharge.
ART: The WPA’s Experimental Media Series will announce the winners of the Kraft Media and Experimental Media Prizes tonight at the Phillips Collection.
