Good morning, Washington. If you’re starting to get that sinking feeling that your drive home tomorrow for Thanksgiving is not only going to be a fustercluck, but a wet, slick, rainy mess at that, we don’t have good news for you. The Capital Weather Gang is calling for this rain to continue pretty much for the rest of the entire week, with the worst of it expected on Friday, when windy conditions will kick in to make it feel even colder. The rain should let up here and there for brief periods of time over the next few days, so take advantage of those moments when you see them, and of course, drive safely.

Oversight Group to Inspect Metro Tracks Next Month: The Tri-State Oversight Committee has finally scheduled days in December to come in and inspect Metro track safety, the Examiner reports. The news comes after a rocky, months-long dispute with WMATA over access to the system, and confusion about whether the oversight group has any real power over the transit agency.

In other transit oversight news, the federal inspector general for transportation has decided to go ahead and launch an audit of the Dulles Metro extension, the Post reports. The decision comes after news broke that Dulles Transit Partners might not have been planning enough testing of the foundations it wants to use in the bridge that will take trains over I-66.

District Settles 2000 Protest Arrest Lawsuit: The District has agreed to settle, to the tune of $13 million, a lawsuit by protesters arrested during IMF and World Bank demonstrations in April 2000, the AP reports via the Washington Times.
