Good morning, Washington. The last 12 hours’ worth of weather may not have involved much ice or snow, but it’s been unpleasant nonetheless. The rain should begin letting up by the afternoon. And yes, I know that the preceding is a pretty banal morning roundup introduction. But note that I’m studiously avoiding any mention of the Salahis, Tiger Woods, or today’s Sarah Palin Post op-ed. It could be worse.

More on NVCC Shooting: We mentioned this when it happened, but today’s Post has a few more details about yesterday’s shooting at Northern Virginia Community College which, thankfully, resulted in no injuries. The alleged gunman is a 20-year-old named Jason Hamilton, who is reported to have fired two shots at a math teacher. After the shots missed, the shooter waited for police to arrive, at which point he cooperated with their instructions and was taken into custody. There’s not yet any indication of a motive for the shooting. The Woodbridge campus remains closed today.

City Government Overrun by Vermin: Well, alright, not overrun. But the Examiner reports that the Frank D. Reeves Center has a serious rodent problem. Apparently construction at the facility has displaced some of its round-the-clock residents. The Health Department is on the job, and sounds optimistic.
