That Winter Storm Warning from the National Weather Service is only getting more and more real as the day goes on. They are now predicting, without even a hint of humor, that between 10 and 20 inches of snow could accumulate between midnight tonight and 6 a.m. on Sunday. That’s well over a foot of snow, for folks keeping track at home. Just how flinty do you think we have to be to take this one in stride?

The heaviest snowfall is expected between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, and now, just to add a little more danger into the mix, the Capital Weather Gang is also warning residents to keep an eye out for ‘thundersnow.’ That’s a real thing, apparently. Where it’s snowing and also thundering at the same time. We can only assume it’s then followed by the literal hand of God reaching down from the sky to punish us for our wicked, wicked ways.

Bundle up, District.
