President Obama obviously agreed with Delegate Elenor Holmes Norton’s recommendation, nominating Ronald C. Machen, a former federal prosecutor, to become the next top U.S. prosecutor in the District. Machen’s main responsibilities will be the oversight of over 300 prosecutors who handle both local and federal criminal cases. If Machen is confirmed by the Senate, he will relocate to D.C. — but as a Silver Spring resident, he won’t have to travel too far.
