As Conan O’Brien prepares to tape his final episode of The Tonight Show this evening, news broke in Lisa de Moraes’ TV Column last night that on top of getting his old show back, Jay Leno is also coming to D.C. in May to host the White House Correspondents Dinner.
Leno may be the most ridiculed man in late night these days, but he’s also a much bigger name than many of the more recent hosts, which have included Wanda Sykes and Rich Little. Leno last hosted the annual event in 2004.
The WHCD planners must be thrilled to have nabbed a host who everyone is talking about right now. Then again, by the time May rolls around, will we already have forgotten all the drama?
