Photo by kimberlyfayeThe National Weather Service has officially upgraded the impending snowfall to a Winter Storm Warning, and increased the accumulation prediction to somewhere between 16 and 24 inches. In other words, the Snomgasm is nigh.
Heavy snow is predicted to begin falling at about 10 a.m. on Friday morning, and it won’t let up until 10 p.m. Saturday night. The developing storm is already being described as something close to a blizzard, if not in fact one. The heaviest snowfall is predicted to come down between sunset on Friday and sunrise on Saturday, so make your plans now to ensure you won’t be out on the road at rush hour tomorrow. Visibility will be extremely low.
We don’t even want to think about what the lines at the grocery stores will be like tonight. It’s going to be like Lord of the Flies out there.
Get ready, D.C. This snow is not messing around.
