The Metropolitan Police Department reports that they are calling the death of Carlos Bernard Alexander, a 47-year-old man whose body was found at the 700 block of 21st Street NE, a homicide. Alexander was found lying unconscious in front of an apartment building, the apparent victim of blunt-force injuries, back on Wednesday, February 3, early in the morning. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department who arrived on the scene could not revive him, and he was pronounced dead on the scene. The autopsy has now revealed that death to be a homicide, meaning that the District did not go a week without a homicide after all.
