The District’s Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs is one of the most important service providers in this town. Whether you’re a homeowner looking to obtain permits for a renovation, a new business in need of a license, or a wronged consumer just looking for a fair shake, DCRA is the place you go to get things done. So when they plan to pack up and move across town, it’s more than a typical governmental office swap. On March 22, DCRA will relocate from its current office at 941 North Capitol Street, NE and drop anchor at 1100 4th Street, SW, right on top of the Waterfront-SEU Metro station. DCRA has set up a dedicated web site to try and avoid any issues with the transition; while not much is up yet besides directions to the new location, the agency promises it will get a new office directory up as soon as possible. Concerned parties can also lob questions at DCRA on Twitter.
