Independent attorney Robert Bennett and his associate, Amy Sabrin, filed a supplemental report on Monday on their investigation into ethics violations on the part of Ward 8 Council member Marion Barry. The original report, commissioned by the D.C. Council, can be found here.
Included in the following 39 pages are the response from Barry’s attorney, Fred Cooke (pg. 18), a response from Rev. Anthony Motley (pg. 27), and Bennett’s additional conclusions, which state that Barry does not challenge the factual findings of the original report, and “effectively concedes that his conduct brought disrepute upon the Council.” Bennett writes that he found nothing in Barry’s response “that alters the conclusion that Mr. Barry’s conduct not only created an appearance of impropriety, but was in fact improper.”
