FOOD & DRINK: Cocktails for under a buck?! You heard right. The Occidental Grill is offering 95 cent cocktails (Vodka Collins, Planters Punch, Side Cars, Stingers, and Gin Rickeys) from 3-7 p.m. tonight (and every Monday through Saturday in March) when you purchase food off the bar menu. The price is a throwback to their 1967 menu. Unfortunately, you’re limited to one 95 cent cocktail per person, but it’s still a cheap way to get the evening started.
Oh sweet, sugary, sunshine yellow goodness. That’s right, we’re talking Peeps. The Washington Post is holding a Peeps Happy Hour tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. Come imbibe drinks mixed by Gina Chersevani and nosh on food at PS7’s while you check out entries from this year’s Peeps Diorama Contest. Cost: $20.
If you missed the Birreria Paradiso beer and pizza pairing we mentioned yesterday, then check out CommonWealth Gastropub’s four course Oliver Breweries Beer Dinner ($55 per person plus tax and gratuity) tonight starting at 6:30 p.m.
MUSIC: Joanna Newsom and The Moore Brothers play their second night tonight at the 6th & I Historic Synagogue at 8 p.m. While it is sold out, there are quite a few tickets being sold on Craigslist. Or, if that’s too much of a hassle, make your own music at Sticky Rice Karaoke, starting at 10 p.m.
CLASSICAL: Tonight at 6 p.m., the Punahou Symphony Strings play a free concert at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage.
