For anyone who’s been the victim of one-too-many April Fools’ pranks (apparently if you go into a Chick-fil-A dressed like a cow on April 1 all you’ll get are weird looks, not free sandwiches), free lunch on the prank-iest day of the year might sound like a setup for failure. But we’re not joking when we tell you that Urbana is offering 300 free lunches on April 1, 2010. No costume required.

As part of the rollout of their new lunch menu — which will include soups, salads, pizzas, and, of course, sandwiches — Urbana is hoping to woo a few of you on April Fools’ with their “Only Fools Fall In Love” lunch giveaway. Starting at 11:30 a.m., they’re offering the first 300 customers a bagged lunch that includes their new pulled pork parmesan sandwich made with braised pork shoulder, Bolognese sauce, mozzarella, and radicchio. In a addition to the sandwich, lunch includes a pickle, chocolate chip cookie, and bottled water.

And since “all anyone really wants in this life is to sit in peace and eat a sandwich,” this is a pretty great deal. With the weather expected to be sunny and in the 70s on Thursday, we really can think of no better excuse to grab a great bagged lunch and go people watch in Dupont Circle.
