The driver who was behind the wheel of the black Escalade that smashed into the back of the Mt. Pleasant Interim Library on Tuesday has been charged with a DWI, WJLA/ABC7 reports.
Council member Jim Graham says the library will be closed for a week.
He also says the driver of the Escalade failed the field sobriety test after crashing into the library at a “great speed.”
Commenters on yesterday’s story were quick to argue that the big, splashy “ESCALADE” decal on the windshield of the vehicle in question was evidence enough that this individual was not, shall we say, super classy. But surely allegedly being blotto at 2:30 p.m. and then getting behind the wheel trumps that superficial assessment.
