Golzar AmirmotazediThe producers of MTV’s The Real World D.C. say a lawsuit filed by a local woman who appeared on the show is “totally without merit.”
On Wednesday, we reported on the lawsuit, filed by Golzar Amirmotazedi, 22, against The Real World D.C.. Amirmotazedi claims her appearance on the show constituted an invasion of privacy and has caused her emotional distress. She’s asking for $5 million in damages.
Bunim-Murray Productions, the company behind the long-running show, since got in touch to let us know that even though they don’t normally comment on pending lawsuits, they feel compelled to say something about Amirmotazedi’s.
“While it is the policy of Bunim-Murray Productions not to comment on pending legal matters, the company would like to go on record to state that the claim filed by Golzar Amirmotazedi against Viacom, MTV and Bunim-Murray is totally without merit,” said Bunim-Murray spokesperson Mariah O’Hara.
Duly noted. Now if only they could sneak some cameras into the courtroom, they could turn this whole episode into a Real World spin-off. Something like The Real Consequences of The Real World. Give a call, Bunim-Murray — we’re full of great ideas.
