D.C. Fire and EMS is reporting that a multiple vehicle accident, including five cars (two cabs) and a Circulator bus, occurred at 13th and K Streets NW about an hour ago. At least one person has life-threatening injuries. Via Twitter, Chris Cooks has posted a few photos from the scene [Update: DCist contributor Tracy Clayton provides more photos above] and notes that bystanders are saying a driver may have had a heart attack, but we have no other confirmation of that yet. K Street is currently closed in both directions between 13th and 14th Streets, so plan alternate routes if you have to drive through the area.

UPDATE [4:10 p.m.]: K Street has been cleared and is now open to traffic. WTOP reports that five people have been hospitalized.
