You may have noticed a lot more pink around town this morning, thanks to the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure, which is taking place downtown. Several roads in the center of the city have closed to allow race participants to do their thing — including 3rd, 4th and 7th Streets and Independence Avenue, all of which will be shut off to all traffic until at least 4 p.m. this afternoon.

The closures will also obviously have an effect on Metrobus service. Routes 5A, 13, 32, 34, 36, 52, 54, 64, 70, 80, A42, A46, A48, P6, S2, S4 and V8 will detour at various times and locations in the District of Columbia today and Saturday, according to WMATA.

But that’s not all! 32 and 36 buses will also detour all day tomorrow at Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 13th and 14th Streets. And don’t forget that there will be free bus shuttle service operating between West Falls Church and East Falls Church as construction work on the Silver Line extension to Dulles will shut down all Metrorail service in between both stations.
