The Capital Weather Gang reports that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Prediction Center says “Outlook Not So Good” with regard to the cold front that is running smack into the solid block of humid air through which all of us in the Mid-Atlantic have been slogging for days. NOAA has put a vast region, from West Virginia up to Maine, on notice for tornadoes, hail, and other nasty bits of weather. From the weather alert animation on the Capital Weather Gang’s page, it looks as though the worst of the massive thunderstorm heading toward the District right now will fall in Loudon and Montgomery Counties, mostly dissipating over the latter before washing out over Baltimore. So residents there will want to batten down the hatches. And anyone who spots a funnel cloud should hit the tip line.
