Getting all fired up about the races for Mayor and Council seats this fall? Well, little good such enthusiasm will do you if the city’s election board thinks you’re dead or living somewhere else. Yesterday, Mike DeBonis delivered a PSA that the D.C. Board of Elections and Ethics has recently moved to get rid of 93,773 unresponsive people from the eligible voter rolls — here’s the really big PDF which you can check your name against. District residents who have voted in nearly any kind of election since 2002 or updated their address at the DMV don’t need to sweat too much. But if your name does appear on the purge list, you can call BOEE at 202-727-2525 or e-mail boee@dc.gov to prove that you’re very much among the living Washingtonian population and would like to vote this fall.
