News Channel 8 reports that several donors — ranging from big corporations like MillerCoors and GEICO to individuals — chipped in to fill a $31,000 gap in the Washington Regional Alcohol Program’s fiscal budget which had threatened the viability of increasingly-popular initiative.
WRAP’s 2010 Independence Day SoberRide program will be offered from 10:00 pm on Sunday, July 4 to 6:00 am on Monday, July 5. If you (or someone you know) have too much to drink and need a ride home, call 800-200-8294 and WRAP will dispatch a cab to your location who will not charge for any fare up to $50. It’s very important to note that calling a taxi company for dispatch will not qualify for the free ride — you must call the WRAP number.
