>> Bonnie Harris, a local vocalist who performs regularly at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, will celebrate the release of her album, Step Out, at Jazz Night in Southwest. Her band features a fine group of local regulars. 6 to 9 p.m., $5.

>> Percussionist Rolando Matias leads his Afro-Rican Ensemble this Friday and Saturday night at Twins Jazz. In the past ten years, the group has performed at festivals and noted venues all over the country, specializing in the fiery rhythms of Central America, the Caribbean, and West Africa. Tickets to the 9 and 11 p.m. sets are $15 + $12 minimum/surcharge.
