Mike DeBonis checked out the Mayor’s second “Go-Go For Fenty” event on Sunday. No word on whether Fenty got down like he did last time; but what did happen was Ron Moten, noted Fenty ally and co-founder of Peaceoholics, did deliver a soaring ten-minute piece of political oratory, in which he talked about why people should vote for the current Mayor. Oh, and he also compared Mayor Fenty to Jesus Christ. Here’s Moten: “If you understand what they did to Jesus, on Monday, everybody was praising him. Wednesday, he went to court, and all the people who he helped, nobody came to court for him. … On Friday, they crucified him. … The reason why we’re here today is to get the facts out to you so history don’t repeat itself again.” Take that, Gettysburg Address!
