MOVIES: The final movie in the Hudson Institute‘s “Pursuit of Happiness” series is, appropriately, The Pursuit of Happyness. The event is free and comes with free food, but you must register to attend. 5:30 p.m.

>> Catch a screening of Out in Silence at the Lounge at Renaissance Washington D.C. Dupont Circle (1143 New Hampshire Avenue NW). The film, a documentary that tells the story of same-sex couple in Pennsylvania, is presented by Docs In Progress and is part of the Summer Screenings series of independent films supported by the Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. 7 p.m., free.

COMMUNITY: As mentioned in the Morning Roundup, tonight is National Night Out (NNO), a night when communities and law enforcement to come together through fun activities to support crime prevention. There are a number of NNO events going on tonight, including the Kickoff Event (with a bike ride at 7:30 p.m.) at the Trinidad Recreation Center (1310 Childress Street NE) from 6-9 p.m.; a block party (music, food, moon bounce) in Columbia Heights (4th and Quincy Streets NW) from 5-9 p.m.; and an ice cream social and dog treat event at Marion Park (500 E Street SE) from 5-6 p.m. See more events here.

FITNESS: Join the pack with the City Sports D.C. Run Club. Just sign this waiver, prepare for a three-to-five mile run, and show up at City Sports (1111 19th Street NW) at 6:30 p.m. Free.

HAPPY HOUR: Enjoy 99-cent sushi during Kyoto Sushi’s (201 Massachusetts Avenue NE) happy hour. 5-7 p.m.

PHOTOGRAPHY: It’s the monthly FONZ Photo Club meetup at the National Zoo (3001 Connecticut Avenue NW). Participate to hear from speakers, discuss photos, and enjoy zoo photo ops. To attend this meetup, you must be a FONZ member. 7-9:30 p.m.
