That was some storm this morning, eh? I’m sure that the intrepid photographers who frequent this website certainly have images of this morning’s doom and gloom that they’d like to share with the world. We’ll keep this post updated as the day goes on — but only if you send in the images of damage, flooding, traffic, Metro delays or anything storm-related in your area to our tipline, or upload your photos into our DCist Flickr pool (just don’t forget to tag them with “DCist”!).
“Violent thunderstorms rolled into town this morning and as they rolled out, they nearly took a Thaiphoon with them. There was an incredible amount of lightning nearby and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if one of those bolts was responsible for the damage here at Thaiphoon. Shortly after the storms ended, I heard emergency vehicles pulling up in the neighborhood, looked out the window and saw Thaiphoon missing an “o” and on fire. The DCFD extinguished the flames before I got over there, but the storm’s mark was left…”
