Photo by blogancircleWe get it — D.C.’s street system can be confusing to newcomers. There’s letters, numbers, state names, quadrants and circles. But in any place around the world, you should at least try to be specific.
Overheard of the Week
At Brookland/CUA Station, 8:30 am:
A 20-ish girl with Vineyard Vines bag, presumably a new student at Catholic U., is talking to a commuter.
Girl: “Which train do I get on to go to I Street?”
Commuter: “Ummm, where are you going?”
Girl: “I Street.”
Commuter: “Well, I Street is pretty long. What part of I Street?”
Girl: “Let me see…(looks at notebook) I Street NW.”
Commuter: (frustrated) “Well THIS train goes INTO the city, and THAT train goes OUT of the city. Good luck.”
After the jump, awesome dads, awesome kid names, and not awesome tourists.
