Friday:
>> Vocalist Green Tea is putting on a show to celebrate two big milestones: her 30th birthday and the release of her EP, The Crazy 8s. Tabaq‘s Art Room will be the venue. $10, 8 p.m.

>> Local emcee/artist Tabi Bonney put out a video this summer where he toured around our fair city by bike. There probably won’t be a bike involved, but Tabi will play the Rock and Roll Hotel for his “Stardom Spectacular” show. $12 in advance/$15 at the door, 9 p.m.

>> It’s once again time for “Close 2 the Edge.” DJ Dredd brings a night of golden era hip-hop tracks to the Black Cat with special guest, DJ Scotty Rock. $7, 9 p.m.

>> “Red Fridays” at U Street Music Hall brings legendary DJ, producer and remixer Timmy Regisford to its booth for a night of house music. He’ll be joined by D.C.’s own Chris Burns. Free before 11 p.m./$10 after 11 p.m., 10 p.m.

Sunday:
>> Philly singer Bilal looks to (finally) be releasing an album of new material for the first time in nearly a decade this week with Airtight’s Revenge. To celebrate, he’s hitting the road and will make a stop at the Birchmere. $32.50, 7:30 p.m.
