  • A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for certain parts of the metro area tonight until 10 p.m. Looks like isolated thunderstorms might be in the cards tonight, so don’t forget to tote an umbrella if you’re heading out.

  • Sounds like a suspicious package was tying things up this afternoon near the intersection of 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Everything should be cleared up by now, however.
  • The Washington Times has a very interesting report on Metropolitan Police Officer Tamara McGuire, who covered for her boyfriend as he packaged heroin and crack in the home they shared. McGuire has already been placed on administrative leave pending the federal investigation.
  • There’s a Facebook movement beginning to take shape that is encouraging people to write in Adrian Fenty’s name on their ballots on November 2. He lost, guys, get over it.
