Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department homicide branch are investigating a shooting death in Petworth. Police responded to reports of gunfire at around 2 a.m. Saturday morning near the corner of Allison Street and Georgia Avenue, NW, according to MPD Fourth District commander Kimberly Chisley-Missouri. Units discovered one male victim who was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police were searching for three black males seen fleeing the scene.
