>> The 15th Annual Arabian Sights Film Festival begins tonight and will continue through October 31, presenting 11 films from six countries. Tonight, see Kick Off, a film about a soccer stadium, its role as a home for Kurdish, Arab, Turkish and Assyrian refugees and a quest for normalcy through a soccer tournament. An after party will follow the film, which is being shown at the Goethe-Institut (812 7th Street NW). $15 for tonight’s film, or $95 for a festival pass.
>> Join the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area for an An Evening & Screening with Jonathan Stack, Emmy Award-Winning Documentary Filmmaker at the Motion Picture Association of America (1600 I Street NW), part of United Nations Week 2010. Stack will present two of his films, The Farm: Angola, USA and Liberia: An Uncivil War, followed by a question and answer session. Registration required. 7-9 p.m.

LECTURE: NPR’s Ken Rudin will moderate “Political Rules of the Road,” a panel discussion at the National Archives’ William G. McGowan Theater (Constitution Avenue and 7th Street NW) featuring four former members of Congress: Bill Frenzel (R-MN), Lou Frey (R-FL), Barbara Kennelly (D-CT) and Romano Mazzoli (D-KY). They will speak about their experiences campaigning, serving the public and working with the media. 7 p.m. Free.
