MOVIE: Alliance Française is showing the Oscar-winning, political murder conspiracy drama Z at their Letelier Theater (3251 Prospect Street NW, Upper Courtyard). The movie will be shown in French with English subtitles. 7 p.m. $9.

ART: A reception for the Likeness exhibit, which showcases a collaboration of twenty artists (ten photographers and ten visual/street artists) who created 10 portraits, is tonight at the Honfleur Gallery (1241 Good Hope Road SE). 6-8 p.m.

SHOP: Beginning tonight and continuing through this Sunday the 14th, start your holiday shopping early at the Museum Shop Around, which brings together nearly 20 museum shops at the Mansion at Strathmore (10701 Rockville Pike, Bethesda). A few of the participants include the Hillwood Museum Shop, Just Imagine! The Shop at Imagination Stage, National Geographic Store and The Shakespeare Theatre Company Shop. Open today until 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Be aware that this is a cash-only event. $9.

HAIR: While you’re in Bethesda, stop by Bella Bethesda Salon’s Hair & Now Show, an event featuring “men’s, women’s and bridal looks from the 1920s through today” at The Ballroom in Bethesda (5521 Landy Lane, Bethesda). Proceeds will benefit the women of N Street Village, a nonprofit that develops community among women facing homelessness. 6:30 p.m. The price of admission ($20 in advance, $30 at the door) includes cocktails, food, swag and a $10 gift card to the salon.
