>> Words, Beats & Life Inc.‘s “Remixing the Art of Social Change” is a series of events occurring between today and November 21st, aimed at cultivating and celebrating hip-hop and its potential for use in social movements. Scheduled events of note include a panel discussion involving Common, Kurtis Blow, DJ Kool Herc and others.

>> Expect to be taken down memory lane as 90s stalwarts Boyz II Men take up residency today and Wednesday at the Birchmere. $59.50, 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday:
>> As a part of the “Remixing the Art of Social Change” program, there will be screening of the documentary, Let’s Get Free: The Black August Hip-Hop Project, at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. On hand for a Q&A will be the film’s creator, dream hampton. $5 for students with ID/$10 general admission in advance, 6 p.m.

>> “Master of the Mix” has two episodes down. This week’s viewing party will take place at Bar 7. DJ Stylus headlines the sound selectors, but is slated to be joined by DJs Asho and Meistro. Free with RSVP, 8 p.m.
