Morning D.C. Yeah, it’s chilly out there right now, but don’t you worry – it will warm up into another nice autumn day. Go out there and enjoy the weather and foliage while you can. And maybe you can burn off some calories before you indulge in turkey, stuffing, and pie next week.

>> An adult male was shot in the leg at about 3:00 am at 11th between Girard and Harvard Streets NW early this morning. A DCist reader who lives on the block says the shooting was a drive-by. The victim has been taken to an area hospital, no word on his condition.

>> Former Redskin quarterback Colt Brennan is in serious condition following a car accident in Hawaii. According to police, Brennan’s girlfriend was driving an SUV that crossed the highway’s center line. The car then collided head-on with a Saab sedan driving on the other side of the highway. All three involved in the accident are in serious condition.

>> After the news broke yesterday that Keely Thompson, of Keely Boxing Center, had been arrested for taking more than $500,000 from the center’s grant money, Rend Smith found an interesting twist to the case. Apparently, Jim Graham both championed the Keely Boxing Center to help it start, and was a part of its owner’s demise. An ex-staffer of Graham tells Smith that Graham learned of accounting irregularities and told Attorney General Peter Nickles a year ago. However, Smith couldn’t get Graham to comment on the statement because he doesn’t speak to City Paper reporters. Right.

>> Sam Dealey, the editor in chief at the Washington Times, has been fired. Managing editor Christopher Dolan will be the acting editor as the paper searches for a permanent replacement. The change didn’t come as a surprise to staffers after Rev. Sun Myung Moon purchase the paper back from his son, Preston Moon, and assumed millions of the paper’s debt.
