Photo by Kevin H.If you follow the D.C. Fire & EMS twitter feed, there’s almost never a weekday that goes by that doesn’t include an update about a struck pedestrian or bicyclist. Other blogs, such as Struck in DC, have popped up to document the various “incidents” and run-ins that occur around town. One particular post surrounding an accident with a taxi and a plea for help has been circulating around the D.C. internet sphere.
The collision occurred at 17th Street and New Hampshire Ave., NW on Oct. 21, around 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. According to Doug K., the cyclist, a taxi turned left onto 17th Street and hit him broadside as he biked through the intersection along New Hampshire Ave. Obviously dazed and unsure of the ensuing events, he was taken to a hospital and released later that night.
After the jump: the police report, the $150 ticket, the laughter, the pain and the request for witnesses.
